The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is an intergovernmental multilateral development agency for the Asian region. In 2013, President Xi Jinping first proposed the establishment of the AIIB; in June 2015, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Agreement was signed; on December 25, 2015, the AIIB was formally established.
